My grandmother always had an amazing garden, which I loved helping maintain when visiting. I thought it was a shame for her beautiful flowers to die, so we began preserving them— a craft we could enjoy together. I then started making jewelry from the flowers, giving pieces as keepsakes to family. After my aunt brought me a dead monarch butterfly, I began preserving ethically sourced insects as well. I now preserve bouquets from weddings and memorials into large pieces as well.
